The Last Day of School

Today was the last day of school for Hannah and Zach! Although the kids have been anticipating summer for a while, it was bittersweet because it was their last day at Atha Road. Next year, they will be fourth graders at Loganville Elementary.

Above is a picture of Hannah in her class play, The Cheetah and the Sloth. She was also the narrator in another class play, Goldilocks and the Three Bullfrogs. The top picture is Hannah holding her "Best Class Speller" award. The kids in her class voted for the superlative. I would have taken pictures of Zach, but he was ill when I went to see him, and we had to leave school early.

A Great Day!

What a great day we had today! First, the kids had a great time at field day which thankfully was not cancelled due to smoke from the fires. (It was last week.) Then, we received our authenticated documents in the mail. This means that tomorrow when we turn the documents in to CCAI, we'll be finished with our dossier! Then, our dossier will be converted into Chinese and sent to China; we'll then receive are highly anticipated log in date.

To top today off, tonight was awards night at the kids' school. Hannah received the language arts award for her class, earning the highest class average. In turn, Zachary received the math award for his class, earning the highest class average and the highest math score on the CRCT. Plus, he won the game ball tonight at his baseball game.

About Us

Hello! Welcome to the Watkins' Family Chronicles. Tim and I have two beautiful and intelligent nine year-old twins, Hannah and Zachary. Hannah is a true artist and has a vast collection of stuffed animals. Zachary loves to play baseball and participate in Tae Kwon Do. He is an orange belt! We also have two English bulldogs, Rex and Daisy, and two geriatric cats, Katie and Oliver. It seems like things have come in twos for us, but we are about to upset the current order of things. We are in the process of adopting a baby girl from China!

While we are excited about our new addition, it will be awhile before we meet her. We are in the final rounds of completing the paperwork for the adoption....Our I-171H and homestudy are currently at the Chinese consulate for authentication. After that, our dossier will be complete and be ready to be translated and sent to China!
